Growing Works nurtures healthy lives outdoors through easily accessible, flexible, therapeutic activities provided free of charge to those in need through connection to the natural world. We work outdoors all year round with activities including, gardening, outdoor therapy, bushcraft, exploration, cooking, nature crafts and much more.
Main Project include:
Bud – Therapeutic gardening and outdoor crafts for people with long term physical and mental health conditions. These small groups meet in the community to enjoy the benefits of gardening and socialising in the outdoor environment.
Volunteer support –A variety of opportunities supporting adults to develop confidence through volunteering. We also link people looking to give back to the community to opportunities to help us in supporting others.
Sprout (Strong Parent Reaching Out) – An innovative project with a whole family approach that is open to those with children who have needs. It seeks to offer early intervention, encouraging peer support and providing a safe space for the whole family to feel relaxed and supported.
Young Shoots – Aimed at young people 13+ with needs and their siblings. Courses in bushcraft, cooking, conservation and environmental exploration allow life skills, confidence and independence to develop.
Family activities and wellbeing sessions open to all: take part in bushcraft, gardening, heritage and nature crafts to enjoying getting together with others in our community and aid wellbeing.
